Quotes – Succinct Perfection

Posted by in Musings

Since I can remember, I’ve had a fascination with quotes. I admire their succinctness, I appreciate their symbolism, and I especially enjoy when those quotes give insight into the person attributed to first saying the quote. They can be funny or inspiring, specific or vaguely long winded. They can offer direction, or provide something to think about. We all have those quotes that we cherish, and many of us often live by them. I know I personally fall into the latter category.

I love quotes so much I have made it a life goal to come up with a quote that can be attributed to me. I want my quote to encapsulate my personailty in a few simple words, yet still have the general applicability to others so that they can draw inspiration. To use as an example, I love Ghandi’s quote “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” He was a believer, and an idealist. Yet he still acted on his ideals, and his pacifist actions changed an entire nation. His legacy lives in his words, and it will continue to inspire others for generations to come.

I’ve got time to perfect my quote, and I realize I will need to do something as incredible as Ghandi to gain clout. It’s a lofty goal, but I’ll give it a try. Although it’s still a work in progress, here is my life quote quote….”It’s how you make it.”

You heard it here first. Anyways, I’ve posted a collection of some of my favorites below. I’ve also added a couple links for websites dedicated to quotes. Feel free to add your own, as I am always looking for new quotes. Cheers.
